ABYSA Needs You!

Asheville Buncombe Youth Soccer Association is the home for three soccer programs (Recreation, Challenge and Classic (Highland Football Club). All of these programs, as well as the Administrative Office of ABYSA would welcome your help in many areas.

ABYSA is the 4th largest youth soccer organization in N.C. Due to the size of the organization we need your help in preserving and improving the quality of the soccer experience for each and every child. Volunteering for ABYSA is a positive thing you can do to impact the organization as a whole and help keep the children smiling each and every weekend during the season. We need help in a number of areas and they occur generally before the soccer season and sometimes during the beginning and end of the physical school year. ABYSA needs help with:

Uniform Sorting:  We need help sorting uniforms and building uniform bags for each team prior to the ABYSA season.

Field Marshalling:  We need individuals who can help answer questions from ABYSA families and visiting association families at the Recreation Festival and Tournament held after each ABYSA season.

Office/Administrative:  We often need help entering in paper registration into the database, compiling and counting materials which go out to team families, and enter in check payments coming in so that we can assign players to teams.

School Liaison:  We need help distributing registration cards out to every school in Buncombe County.  If you have a good relationship with your child’s school and are willing to help, please contact us so that we can make you ABYSA’s school liaison.

If you are unable to help with these tasks then please do you part by letting your coach know that you might be able to assist him in duties like, organizing a family outing for the team, make calls to help coach contact players if practice is cancelled or simply helping with little things that come up during the season.
