Academy Evaluations Information

All players born in 2010 and 2011
 are eligible to compete in the HFC Academy Program
this spring.


Player Evaluations will take place Nov 5th and Nov 7th at the John B. Lewis Soccer Complex (JBL)439 Azalea Road East, Asheville, NC 28805.

Players being evaluated are expected to attend both nights of placement evaluations.

Here’s the schedule:

  • Tuesday, November 5th
    • 9U Boys: 5:00-6:00 pm
    • 9U Girls: 5:00-6:00 pm
    • 10U Boys: 5:00-6:00 pm
    • 10U Girls: 5:00-6:00 pm
  • Thursday, November 7th
    • 9U Boys: 5:00-6:00 pm
    • 9U Girls: 5:00-6:00 pm
    • 10U Boys: 5:00-6:00 pm
    • 10U Girls: 5:00-6:00 pm

Here are some important things to know about the HFC Academy Program:

  • Academy Spring programming will run from mid-February to early May (approximately 12 weeks).
  • All Academy players practice twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Asheville.
  • Academy training and games are staffed by qualified HFC instructors
  • There is no mandatory travel, all games are played locally.
  • No set rosters; players may be moved to train and play games with different groups to be challenged throughout the season
  • Competitive games against teams of similar ability
  • Cost of the Academy program is $393 per season. Information about cost can be found here Academy Costs – This link also provides information about our Financial Aid programs. We provide financial aid to families that qualify as well as other incentives to help reduce the cost as a barrier.

The following forms must be completed and turned in at players’ evaluation: Medical Consent, Financial Commitment, and Concussion Statement forms as well as provide a copy of the player’s birth certificate before evaluation which can be found here: Academy Forms
