Overview

The goal of our HFC Competitive Program (also known as "Classic") is to provide talented young athletes, who possess a strong interest in soccer training and competition, an environment that will allow them to reach their maximum potential in the sport. We offer the highest level of soccer training available to youth in Western North Carolina and employ the best coaching staff available. The majority of our coaches have played soccer at the collegiate level or higher and hold coaching licenses from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), United States Youth Soccer (USYS) and United Soccer Coaches (formerly known as NSCAA). Coaches in the older age groups commonly have collegiate coaching experience.

2023 - 2024 Season Age Groups

As mandated by US Soccer, all HFC programs are based off of birth year, not player age or grade level.

Schedules

Training

All players train 3 times per week at the John B Lewis Soccer Complex (JBL) or Buncombe County Sports Park (BCSP) for players based in Asheville and at the AAC for players based in Hendersonville. The Fall season takes place from late July thru November and the Spring seasons runs from January thru May.

Games

Games are primarily played on weekends. Home games take place at the John B Lewis Soccer complex or Buncombe County Sports Park for Asheville based teams and at the AAC for Hendersonville based teams. Travel for away games usually consists of about 3-4 games in the Charlotte area for our youngest teams while our oldest teams could travel as far as Raleigh. Each team typically participates in 2-3 tournaments per season as well.

Field Locations

All competitive training for Asheville based teams takes place at John B. Lewis Soccer Complex (JBL).

All competitive training for Hendersonville based teams takes place at the AAC

Buncombe County Sports Park (BCSP) may also be used as a site for home games.

College Recruiting

HFC is proud to say that every year we have numerous male and female players who go on to play college soccer. Both the Boys and Girls Classic programs hold a "college night" each year in order to guide families through the recruiting process.
