Academy Fees and Uniform Information Academy Fees and Uniform Information

Cost of Academy

HFC makes every effort to contain the cost of this program through tournament hosting, fundraising, and the use of a growing volunteer base. It is the philosophy of ABYSA that cost should not be a deterrent for any qualified player to participate in academy soccer.

Academy Full-Year (fall and spring) Fees: $858
Total full-year (fall and spring) fee includes coaching, fields, facility rental, facility maintenance, equipment, club and state player registration, insurance and other administrative costs. The $858 annual fee covers two season (Fall $429 and Spring $429).

Payment Plan Option:

HFC offers a payment plan for Academy players. The $858 full-year (Fall $429 and Spring $429) fee does not need to be paid all at once. The $429 fee for each season can be paid in three installments of $143. For more detailed information regarding payment plans please contact Nancy McCord at [email protected]

ABYSA has established 3 programs to mitigate the costs of playing Academy soccer: Ingle's Gift cards, Tournament Program Ad Sales, and G.O.A.L.S. Financial Aid programs. Please see the 'Methods for Reducing the Cost..' Section below for more information on each of these programs.

HFC Academy Uniform Ordering Information and Link

Ordering a uniform does not mean that your player is registered with the HFC Academy Program. If you order a uniform, but do not register through PlayMetrics, we will not be able to place you with a team and add you to team/league communications.

New players to the HFC Academy program must purchase the Academy game day uniform package pictured below (approximately $100).

Returning players
that have previously played in the HFC Academy will have the option to purchase a uniform but do not need to as they can use the game day uniform from the previous year. Other items, including a warm-up suit, gear bag, rain jacket, sweatshirts, and fan gear can also be purchased for an additional cost.

Training Shirts (gray practice shirts) will be provided by the HFC office at the beginning of each season.

** IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ABYSA FAMILIES WITH HFC COMPETITIVE PLAYERS**
If you have your Lloyd's username and password for your HFC Competitive player saved on your computer, you may have to 'Log Out' in order to see the HFC Academy/Intermediate store. If it directs you to the main "My Uniform," webpage, select the "Spirit Store" (look for the foam finger) button and the HFC Academy/Intermediate store will be one of the first options to click on; Then you can order your HFC Academy uniform.

Having trouble ordering?

You do NOT need to log in/create a My Uniform account at any time to order an ABYSA Recreation uniform with Lloyd's Soccer. If you are directed to a login screen at any point, please try the following troubleshooting tips:

  1. If you can't see the catalog items to order:
    1. 'Log Out' in order to see the HFC Academy/Intermediate store. If it directs you to the main "My Uniform" webpage, select the "Spirit Store" button (look for the foam finger) and the HFC Academy/Intermediate store should be one of the first options listed. Once you click the HFC logo, it will direct you to the correct ordering catalog

  2. If you can see the items, but can't get to the cart/payment  screen
    1. Make sure you have selected a size AND quantity of each item you added to your cart.
    2. If you are on a phone, you may also have to change your phone/tablet to 'desktop' mode in the browser setting to get the payment system to work. Lloyd's is working on a solution, but their payment system doesn't always work correctly on mobile browsers.

Methods for Reducing the Cost of HFC Programming Methods for Reducing the Cost of HFC Programming

Aid to Players and Families:
It is the philosophy of ABYSA/HFC that cost should not be a deterrent for any qualified player to participate in HFC's Competitive or Academy soccer programs. Therefore, affordable monthly payment plan options are available for players in all programs. In addition, ABYSA/HFC has established 3 programs to mitigate the costs of playing classic soccer: the Ingle's Gift Card program, Riverside Tournament Program Ad Sales, and G.O.A.L.S. Financial Aid.

Ingle's Gift Card Program
Ingle's gift cards are purchased by ABYSA/HFC at a discount from Ingle's. Player families purchase these gift cards at face value from their team representative or HFC scrip volunteers. 5% of the purchase is applied as a credit against their team fees. Example: A purchase of $100 of Ingle's gift cards yields $100 worth of groceries (or gas!) and a $5 reduction of the player's fees. Some families have paid all their fees from Ingle's gift card purchases alone!

Click here for more information about the Ingle's Gift Card Program.

Tournament Program Advertising Sales
If you’re looking for ways to help pay for your family’s cost of playing HFC Academy, Intermediate, or Classic soccer, you can raise money to help directly offset your player’s fees by participating in program ad sales for the Annual Riverside Summer Shootout soccer tournament program. Families will receive credit for 50% of the value of each ad they sell.
(For example, if you sell a full page ad for $450, you will receive $225 credit.). The deadline for tournament Ad Sales is July 28, 2023.
We hope you will find this program helpful for your family as an effective way to offset travel soccer costs. It has not been unusual for families to pay for nearly all of their player fees using this program!

Financial Aid Program

G.O.A.L.S. Financial Aid (Granting Opportunities for Advancement in Life through Soccer)
This program provides financial support to committed players who otherwise would not be able to participate in classic soccer. The Financial Aid Application is an online form. All information is kept confidential. Applicants should be committed to competitive soccer and should regularly participate in the other fundraising opportunities offered by ABYSA. The Financial Aid is need-based and each application is individually reviewed by the G.O.A.L.S. Funding Committee.

ABYSA is confident that, by utilizing the Ingle's gift card, Tournament Ad Sales and if necessary, G.O.A.L.S Financial Aid program, any committed player and family can financially afford to participate in our competitive soccer program.
