2020-2021 HFC Team and Program Placement, Player Evaluation, and Payment Procedures (“tryouts”)

  • Players MUST register in Blue Sombrero to be placed on an HFC Team or in an HFC Program.
  • There will be no fee charged for registering in Blue Sombrero to be placed on a team or in a program, or for participating in an on the field player evaluation, as part of the placement process. Historically, there is a $15-$30 fee. There will be no fee this spring/summer.
  • Players can elect to attend an on the field evaluation as part of their placement or they can choose to be placed without attending an on the field evaluation. This choice can be communicated when you register in Blue Sombrero and by communicating it to the appropriate Program Director.
  • On the field evaluations will be conducted the week of June 22nd and will conform with the most current governmental safety guidelines for the sport of soccer. Players must sign up separately for an on the field evaluation and instructions for signing up will be provided when you complete the Blue Sombrero registration.
  • When offered a placement on a team or in a program, a deposit will be required to “lock in” that placement. Deposits for the Classic Program are $230 and will be sent to team treasurers to cover a portion of the season’s team fees. Deposits for the Academy and Intermediate Programs are $100. Families that wish to accept a position on a team or in a program, but cannot make the full deposit, should contact the ABYSA office.
  • No further HFC Player Fees will be assessed at that time. Payment schedules will begin as scheduled if we are able to begin programming on the planned start dates. If the start dates need to be pushed back, the payment plans will be pushed back and the total cost of the program will be adjusted proportionally.

HFC Academy 9U & 10U (Birth Years: 2013, 2012 & 2011)

The Academy program is designed to help 8U, 9U and 10U players improve their technical soccer skills which they will need to play at a higher level as well as their love for the game. Our dedicated coaching staff follows a curriculum that provides players with high quality instruction and age appropriate activities which creates a fun learning environment. The majority of the players that enter the Academy during their 9U and 10U years move on to play competitive (Classic) soccer once they graduate the Academy program.

A pool style training and game system is utilized to create the best possible environment for player development. This allows for players of similar abilities to train and play together consistently.
